Loud Crow Interactive and Rival Schools’ latest collaboration is now available on Apple, Android and Kindle devices

The Great Sasquatch Icon - Bramble Berry TalesRival Schools and Loud Crow Interactive announced the release of their second digital application collaboration this morning, unveiling The Great Sasquatch to Apple and Android customers worldwide. The second standalone storybook app in Rival Schools’ Bramble Berry Tales collection, The Great Sasquatch brings the oral histories of the Sto:lo Nation to life through interactive elements and animation techniques.

Inspired by traditional Indigenous languages and histories, Rival Schools’ latest creation is one part entertaining story and one part educational resource. Fully localized in English, Spanish, French and the original Halq'eméylem language, The Great Sasquatch exposes readers to the origins of what many believe is the Pacific Northwest’s greatest mystery.

Roy Husada Speech Bubble“Thousands of years old, Halq’eméylem has less than a dozen fluent speakers. It’s our hope that The Great Sasquatch will help to not only preserve the endangered language of the Sto:lo Nation, but also breathe new life into its study.”

- Roy Husada, Principal at Rival Schools

Readers of The Great Sasquatch will enjoy the same 3D renderings and digitally painted landscapes that made the first Bramble Berry Tales release, The Story of Kalkalilh (an Apple App Store Editor’s Choice in 22 countries) so memorable. Other engaging features include:

  • a new and original story world;
  • charming and humorous narration that guides you through each page;
  • educational word highlighting and definitions for young readers;
  • responsive touch, tilt and slide interactions that bring the story to life, and
  • a fully optimized user interface for iPhone 5s and retina display.

Story Synopsis

After a day exploring the wonderful west coast Thomas learns that sometimes little sisters can teach the most valuable lessons of all. Follow Lily and Thomas in an adventure sure to capture any child’s imagination as they encounter one of the most reclusive and mysterious creatures of all, the Sasquatch. Learn the history and origin of the Sásq’et (Sasquatch) as their mooshum (grandfather) relates the oral history of this giant creature and teaches them the valuable lesson of not judging a book by its cover.
